Heatwave persists throughout the week in Southern California – Orange County Register

The Inland Empire is bracing for another scorching week ahead, with temperatures reaching triple digits. However, coastal communities can expect a slightly cooler climate due to lingering clouds. According to meteorologist Miguel Miller of the National Weather Service, cities such as Hemet and Moreno Valley in Riverside County could experience highs of up to 101 and 104 degrees respectively by Tuesday or Wednesday. Further south, cities like Murrieta and Temecula can expect temperatures in the mid to high 90s throughout the week.

With the heat in full swing, residents are finding ways to beat the heat. Children are seen splashing around at Andulka Park in Riverside and Celebration Park in Moreno Valley, enjoying the relief of water activities. But not everyone is fortunate enough to find shade or have access to splash pads. People are seeking refuge under railroad overpasses or utilizing umbrellas to shield themselves from the scorching sun.

The high temperatures are not limited to Riverside County, as cities like Rialto and Murrieta in San Bernardino County will also experience similar heat. Tuesday is expected to be the hottest day, with temperatures reaching the triple digits. However, there will be a slight cooldown heading into the weekend. San Bernardino Mountain communities can expect warm temperatures in the mid to high 80s, with a chance of thunderstorms on Tuesday.

On the coastline, fog patches are expected to persist throughout the week, providing some relief in the afternoons for cities like Huntington Beach and Laguna Beach in Orange County. However, cities inland such as Fullerton and Anaheim will not benefit from this cloud coverage, with temperatures lingering in the low to mid 90s.

Los Angeles County will also be affected by the scorching heat. Woodland Hills and Pasadena can expect temperatures around 101 and 99 degrees respectively. Similarly, the Los Angeles County coastline will experience early morning-afternoon clouds and temperatures in the mid 70s.
