Harris County Deputy critically injured after being shot, transported by helicopter to hospital.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office is humbly requesting prayers after one of their deputies was tragically shot.

Sheriff Ed Gonzalez has provided details of the incident, stating that a 29-year-old patrol deputy was shot during a routine traffic stop on Homestead Road in the 13500 block at approximately 7:39 p.m.

Dispatchers promptly received reports of an officer down after the deputy commenced his traffic duties.

The wounded deputy was expeditiously transported to the hospital via life flight and is currently in surgery. Although in critical condition, his condition is stable.

Authorities have confirmed that the deputy sustained at least two gunshot wounds to his upper torso. He has been a devoted member of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office for one year and three months.

Sheriff Gonzalez has revealed that the person of interest fled the scene following the heinous act.

The Texas Department of Public Safety has issued a Blue Alert for the suspect, Terran Green, aged 34.

Green is described as a Black male, last seen wearing a gray shirt and black shorts, with short hair and brown eyes.

He may be driving a 2016 royal blue or dark blue Ford Escape with black tinted windows, bearing a Texas license plate number SVJ6590.

Notably, Green has a history of five prior felony convictions and has served time in prison on three occasions.

In April, Green was released on bond amounting to $55,000 for charges of Aggravated Assault of a Family Member and felony Possession of a Weapon. He had also previously been sentenced to two years for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.

As for the bond forfeiture in May, Green became a wanted individual.

Governor Greg Abbott has expressed his support, revealing that DPS Special Agents have been deployed and offering prayers to the injured deputy and his family.

Authorities are actively conducting a large-scale manhunt to locate the suspect or potential accomplices involved.
