Harbour Energy Awards £262m Contract to Wood Group, Promising Aberdeen’s Economy Hundreds of Jobs

Wood Group, a major player in London’s oil and gas sector, has secured a lucrative five-year contract with Harbour Energy. This contract, valued at £262 million ($330 million), will bring significant job opportunities to the Aberdeen region.

Under the contract, Wood Group will provide engineering, procurement, construction, operations, and maintenance services, along with digital and decarbonisation solutions, for Harbour Energy’s offshore assets. These assets play a critical role in ensuring the UK’s energy security.

Steve Nicol, Wood’s executive president of operations, expressed pride in the partnership with Harbour Energy. He emphasized their shared commitment to safe, reliable, and sustainable energy production. Nicol believes that Wood’s expertise in integrated digital solutions, engineering, operations, and decarbonisation will help Harbour Energy maximize their investment and contribute to the UK’s low carbon future.

Harbour Energy recently announced a small first-half loss due to declining energy prices and high tax payments.
