Hamilton Police welcome former Blue Jay Dalton Pompey as officer

Former Blue Jay Dalton Pompey has joined the Hamilton police force.

Pompey, hailing from Mississauga, Ontario, was once touted as one of the top prospects for the Blue Jays and was part of the team during its 2015 playoff run.

In 2019, he left the Jays organization and went on to play for the Arizona Diamondbacks and Los Angeles Angels. In 2022, he returned to Ontario to play for the Guelph Royals of the Intercounty Baseball League, announcing his retirement from baseball after the 2022 season.

Hamilton police have announced that Pompey will be joining their force, and as part of the officer’s uniform, baseball caps are now an option.

Officers can choose to wear a ball cap instead of the traditional police hat as part of their attire.
