Aug. 18 (UPI) — Power couple Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton have delighted fans by releasing their rendition of The Judds’ hit song “Love is Alive.”
Stefani, 53, and Shelton, 47, recorded the track for a new tribute album dedicated to The Judds, a legendary country music duo consisting of Naomi Judd and Wynonna Judd. Naomi Judd passed away at the age of 76 in April 2022.
“I’m thrilled to be part of this tribute album with @gwenstefani,” Shelton expressed on Instagram. “The Judds are one of the greatest country acts of our time, and 80’s country music is my ultimate favorite. I’ve been singing these songs for as long as I can remember.”
“I’ve always admired The Judds, and I’m ecstatic to be part of this album,” Stefani said in a press release. “‘Love is Alive’ is an iconic track, and performing it with Blake is the perfect way to honor their timeless discography.”
A Tribute to The Judds, the album featuring the cover, was announced by Wynonna Judd last week. It also includes contributions from Dolly Parton, Jelly Roll, Reba McEntire, Lainey Wilson, Trisha Yearwood, Ashley McBryde, Gabby Barrett, LeAnn Rimes, and other talented artists.
“Having all of these amazing artists, most of whom are my friends, come together to reimagine these songs is incredibly special. These songs are timeless, and I can’t wait for them to continue inspiring future generations,” Wynonna Judd shared.
A Tribute to the Judds is set to be released on October 27th.
