In a tragic incident, a 29-year-old Greek football fan has lost his life in violent clashes between rival supporters in Athens. As a result, UEFA has postponed the scheduled Champions League qualifying game between AEK Athens and Dinamo Zagreb on Tuesday.
Following the death of the fan, Greek authorities requested that all supporters be excluded from the match at the Opap Arena. Dinamo fans were already excluded under a previous UEFA ruling.
Greek police have reported 88 arrests, most of which are Croatian supporters, and eight fans have been injured.
UEFA has rearranged the fixture, with the first leg now taking place in Zagreb next Wednesday, and the second leg scheduled for Athens on Friday 18th or Saturday 19th.
