Located at 1133 Central Ave, the restaurant occupies a familiar A-frame building that was once home to TJ’s Cafe for 25 years.
While Tengu Asian Bistro offers an extensive menu with a strong focus on sushi and Japanese cuisine, Hey Chef takes a slightly different approach. With a smaller yet carefully curated menu, Hey Chef showcases pan-Asian flavors through rice and noodle bowls, noodle soups, and a selection of three seafood entrees.

Operating hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. from Monday to Thursday, extending until 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, and offering delectable brunch options from noon to 9 p.m. on Sundays. Philip’s father, Anthony Sabatino, also from Hanna, represented Todd Leach, the previous owner of TJ’s.
