Golden Knights nearly clinch victory against Panthers as Stanley Cup brawl erupts

In Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Final, the Panthers were given one last opportunity to score against the Golden Knights. However, what transpired was a brawl that involved everyone, including Vegas goaltender Adin Hill. Adding to the chaos were fans from FLA Live Arena who began throwing items onto the ice. With Florida’s goalie pulled and on power play, they sent the puck toward Hill with only 1.5 seconds remaining, but it redirected towards the boards behind the net. The Panthers tried for one last chance at a goal, but Matthew Tkachuk’s shot wouldn’t have counted according to the TNT clock. The brawl began following Vegas’ 3-2 win, which gave them a 3-1 lead in the series. Panthers’ defenseman, Brandon Montour checked a Vegas player from the blue line, which led to Hill jumping up from the ice, dropping his stick and punching Montour. The two teams then started shoving and ended up fighting. Controversially, during the scuffle, fans threw water bottles onto the ice, which one of the TNT broadcasters found embarrassing. In the end, the Panthers received 26 penalty minutes while the only penalty Vegas received was for unsportsmanlike conduct against Hill. The Golden Knights survived the brawl, killing a penalty in the final seconds, and moved within one game of clinching the franchise’s first Stanley Cup title as the series shifts back to T-Mobile Arena on Tuesday.
