Walmart has launched a cheaper stick version of its Onn Google TV Full HD Streaming Device for only $14.88, following the release of its Onn Google TV 4K Streaming Box earlier this year. Although the stick has lower video quality (1080p) and less RAM than the box, its budget-friendly price makes it an attractive option for enhancing the guest room TV.
The Onn stick is essentially a more affordable version of Google’s $30 Chromecast with Google TV HD, running the same Google TV software and coming with a voice-capable Bluetooth remote control that summons Google Assistant. It is available for purchase on Walmart.com starting today.
The Onn stick can be easily plugged into the TV’s HDMI slot, allowing access to streaming services such as Netflix, YouTube TV, ESPN, and Max. It also features built-in Chromecast for casting photos, videos, and music onto the TV.
The stick shares the same specs as Google’s HD stick, featuring full HD (1080p) resolution, stereo sound, 1.5GB RAM, and 8GB storage, and comes with a remote, HDMI cable, and a Micro USB power adaptor and plug.

Walmart’s in-house brand, Onn, introduces the new, cheaper stick version, which features lower specs but uses the same remote with dedicated buttons for popular streaming platforms. Although the $15 price for voice control and access to the Google TV platform is appealing, the $20 Onn box with 4K resolution and more memory provides a minimal upgrade that could justify the extra cost.
