Aug. 2 – Former Bachelorette contestant Gabby Windey made a significant announcement on The View yesterday, as she came out as LGBTQ+.
During the episode of the popular ABC talk show, the 32-year-old TV personality revealed that she is currently dating a woman.
“I’ve always believed in living my truth and sharing my story,” Windey stated. “I’ve been seeing someone for a few months now, and I initially kept it private because I knew it would spark a bigger conversation – I’m dating a girl!”
Windey discussed how she gradually became more aware of her attraction towards women over the past few years, describing it as a “whisper” that grew increasingly louder.
“I wasn’t sure how to acknowledge it,” she admitted. “There’s definitely some shame that surrounds this realization, so I had to navigate through that. But ultimately, I’ve always prioritized being true to myself and doing what feels right, even if it takes time to figure things out.”
In addition to sharing the news on The View, Windey posted a video on Instagram Stories to address the curiosity surrounding her love life.
“I know a lot of you have been curious about who I’m dating, and I appreciate the interest. I love to keep people guessing, but I wanted to wait until I was ready to have this conversation because it’s an important one – I am dating a girl,” she explained.
Furthermore, Windey posted a photo slideshow on Instagram featuring herself and her girlfriend, writer and comedian Robby Hoffman.
She captioned the post, “I told you I’m a girls girl!!”
Windey gained recognition as a contestant on Clayton Echard’s season of The Bachelor in early 2022. Later on, she appeared on The Bachelorette Season 19 alongside Rachel Recchia, where she got engaged to Erich Schwer. However, the couple ended their relationship in November 2022.
