MRI Shows No Major Damage for Washington Commanders’ Wide Receiver Terry McLaurin, Expected to Be Ready for Week 1

LANDOVER – A magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan did not reveal any significant damage to Washington Commanders’ wide receiver Terry McLaurin’s right toe, leaving the team optimistic about his availability for the first regular-season game on September 10, according to a source at ESPN.

Terry McLaurin suffered a sprained toe in the second quarter of Monday’s preseason victory over the Baltimore Ravens (29-28). He underwent X-rays at the stadium, which came back negative, and had an MRI on Tuesday.

After the game, Washington Commanders’ head coach Ron Rivera stated that Terry McLaurin would receive treatment and be evaluated day by day. Washington faces the Arizona Cardinals on September 10. Terry McLaurin has played in 35 consecutive games.

He injured his toe at the end of a 13-yard reception with 1 minute and 17 seconds remaining before halftime. Terry McLaurin immediately went to the bench, where he was attended by medical staff before heading to the locker room.

Terry McLaurin, a Pro Bowl selection in 2022, has surpassed 1,000 receiving yards in three consecutive seasons. He caught 77 passes for 1,191 yards and five touchdowns last season. His average yards per reception (15.5) ranked as the sixth highest in the NFL.

NFL Network was the first media outlet to report on the results of his MRI.
