Frozen Chicken Strip Meals Recall: Banquet Recalls Over 245,000 Pounds

A recall has been issued for more than 245,000 pounds of Banquet frozen chicken strip entrees due to potential plastic contamination. This decision comes after a consumer reported suffering from an oral injury after consuming one of the products.

Conagra Brands, based in Missouri, initiated the recall. The affected batches have best-by dates of Dec. 11, 2024; Jan. 1, 2025; or Jan. 7, 2025. The recall was announced by the US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service on Saturday.

The discovery of the issue was made when the company informed FSIS about a consumer complaint regarding the presence of plastic in the chicken strip portion of the product, which led to an injury upon consumption. For identification purposes, the impacted meals were produced on June 20, July 11, and July 17, 2023. The packaging bears the establishment number “EST. P-9”.
