French schools continue to lead in teaching Masters in Finance

ESCP Business School’s newly-appointed dean, Léon Laulusa, has received positive news as admissions and assessments for the master’s in finance degree have increased, leading to top rankings in the FT 2023 ranking. Laulusa reports that student demand for impactful and employable degrees has led to a doubling of applications for the MiF program. The ranking, which assessed pre-experience postgraduate finance degrees, shows that French business schools have dominated with ESCP, HEC, and Essec taking the top three spots. Skema and Edhec complete the group. The ranking considers salaries, diversity, and gender mix, and also credits schools that publicly release carbon emissions reports and set net-zero targets. While French schools led in Europe, schools like the Shanghai Advanced Institute of Finance and Peking University’s Guanghua School of Management have also shown steady growth in rankings. The University of Southern California: Marshall tops the ranking among US schools with $118,750 being the average salary for alumni.
