Former business associate of Hunter Biden made more visits to the Obama White House and Vice President’s residence than previously disclosed

Eric Schwerin, the former friend and business partner of Hunter Biden, has come under scrutiny for his numerous visits to the Obama White House and former Vice President Joe Biden’s residence between 2009 and 2016. It is believed that these visits were related to Hunter Biden’s foreign business dealings and may make Schwerin a target of the House Oversight Committee’s investigation.

Previously, it was reported that Schwerin had visited the White House and vice presidential residence 27 times during Joe Biden’s time as vice president. However, a more thorough review has revealed that he actually made at least 36 visits during that period.

Schwerin was a founding partner and managing director of Hunter Biden’s now-dissolved firm, Rosemont Seneca Partners. In 2015, he was appointed by then-President Obama to the Commission for the Preservation of America’s Heritage Abroad. He was later reappointed in January 2017.

In an email from March 13, 2015, Hunter Biden revealed that Schwerin had requested the aforementioned appointment shortly after the 2008 election.

It is worth noting that the number of Schwerin’s visits to the White House could be higher if any of his meetings fell under the exception of “purely personal guests” in the White House voluntary disclosure policy. This exception is relevant due to Schwerin’s involvement in handling the Biden family’s personal finances.

One specific visit of Schwerin’s to the White House in November 2010 included a meeting with Joe Biden in the West Wing. Additionally, Schwerin visited Joe Biden’s residence on at least 15 occasions for various holiday receptions.

According to White House visitor logs, Schwerin attended a holiday reception in December 2015, shortly after Joe Biden’s trip to Ukraine where he threatened to withhold U.S. aid. At this reception, Schwerin was accompanied by Devon Archer, another co-founder of Rosemont Seneca, Hunter Biden, and Sebastian Momtazi, an associate who worked in Rosemont Seneca’s New York City office. Both Archer and Momtazi had Burisma.com email addresses.

It is further revealed that Schwerin had meetings with several of Biden’s aides throughout Obama-Biden administration. Notably, he met with Steve Ricchetti, who was chief of staff at the time and is now White House counselor, at least twice in 2016. Additionally, Schwerin met with Anne Marie Person, a former general assistant at Rosemont Seneca who joined Biden’s office, and other personnel from Biden’s office.

Schwerin’s relationship with the vice president’s office has been previously documented. In 2015, he worked with Biden’s office to suppress a Bloomberg News story about Hunter Biden’s business dealings.

President Biden has consistently denied any knowledge of his son’s business dealings and reiterated that he does not discuss business matters with his son or other family members. The recent revelations about Schwerin’s frequent visits come after Archer’s testimony to the House Oversight Committee, in which he claimed that the elder Biden was present on multiple business calls with his son while he was vice president.

Neither Schwerin nor the White House have responded to requests for comment on the matter.
