Flight Returns to Airport After Ill Passenger Sets Off ‘Biohazard’ Alarm

In a bizarre turn of events, a Delta Air Lines flight on its way to Spain had to make a U-turn due to a rather unpleasant passenger. According to an audio transmission posted on X, a passenger on the flight had diarrhea throughout the entire airplane, causing a biohazard issue. Delta has officially stated that a “medical issue” necessitated the return to Atlanta for cleaning, as reported by Insider. The flight ultimately arrived in Barcelona with an eight-hour delay, as detailed by CNN.

An airline representative apologized for the delay and inconvenience caused to customers, stating that their teams worked quickly and safely to clean the airplane. Unfortunately, this incident is not the only repulsive story to come out of air travel this summer, with one involving blood and feces and another involving vomit. Replies to the tweet about the Delta flight indicate that the carpet on the plane had to be ripped out and replaced by ground crew once the aircraft returned to Atlanta.
