A recent incident on a Delta Air Lines flight to New Orleans involved a passenger threatening a flight attendant’s safety, as reported by the local television station FOX8<. According to the report, Nelson Montgomery, the identified passenger, brandished a shard of broken glass at the flight attendant and proceeded to place her in a chokehold while flying from Atlanta to New Orleans. Montgomery, 39, issued a threat to "cut off her head" if any other passengers intervened.

A fellow passenger, who opted to remain anonymous, recounted that eight individuals collaborated to overcome Montgomery’s aggression, with the suspect having sustained injuries to his neck. Additional information from the local television station WDSU6 revealed that Montgomery self-inflicted the wound on his neck before targeting the flight attendant with physical violence, resulting in superficial injuries for her.

Upon arrival in New Orleans, deputies from the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office promptly apprehended Montgomery. FOX8 confirmed that he will face charges of aggravated battery, disturbing the peace, and simple battery after receiving necessary medical attention for his neck injury.

In response to the incident, a Delta spokesperson conveyed the airline’s commitment to safety and their intolerance for disruptive behavior on their aircraft and within their facilities.
