According to well-informed sources, FBD Hotels & Resorts, a group with hotels in Ireland and Spain, is currently in the early stages of due diligence for the acquisition of the well-known Newbridge hotel in Co Kildare.
When contacted, both FBD Hotels and the Keadeen declined to comment on the acquisition process.
The Newbridge hotel, with 69 rooms and a 4-star rating, was established in 1970 and is situated in eight acres of former stud farm gardens.
Currently, the hotel is managed by Rose O’Loughlin and her three adult children.
The Newbridge hotel has a strong association with nearby Curragh, being closely connected to racing events, as well as hosting political meetings and local property auctions.
