Fate of Man Who Deliberately Set His Own Property on Fire is Decided.

Denis Vladmirovich Molla, a 29-year-old man from Minnesota, has been sentenced to 30 months in prison for setting fire to his own property to claim insurance money. Initially, he even tried to shift the blame on antifa, a radical left-wing political movement. However, in October 2022, Molla admitted to committing wire fraud and pleaded guilty in federal court. During the fire in Brooklyn Center in September 2020, Molla’s camper, garage, two vehicles and some of the siding on his home were destroyed. He managed to collect $61,000 in insurance money and an additional $22,000 from two GoFundMe fundraisers. In addition to his jail time, Molla has been ordered to pay restitution of $3,850 and an $18,000 fine. He has already paid back more than $83,000 to the insurance company and GoFundMe donors.
