Fatal shooting of woman in Texas road rage incident

A tragic incident of road rage has resulted in a fatality. Zane Jones was driving with his wife, Paola Nunez Linares, in Hurst, Texas on Monday night when he encountered an aggressive driver. According to NBC DFW and Fox 4, Jones claims that he flipped off the driver, who responded by pulling out a gun and shooting at their minivan. Sadly, Linares was shot in the head and passed away after being rushed to the hospital. The suspect responsible for the shooting is still at large. Limited information is available at this time, with only a vague description of the suspect’s car as a “small, dark-colored older model.” Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact Detective C. Jackson at 817-788-7179.

The couple was on their way to their night shift at a paint store when they encountered a slow-moving vehicle in the right lane. In an attempt to pass, they moved into the left lane, but a third vehicle suddenly approached from behind and aggressively followed closely. “So I completed the pass, moved over to the right lane, and the other car sped up to me and almost crashed into my car, got very close and then backed away. And I flipped them off,” recalls Jones. “She [his wife] always told me not to flip people off because you never know.”
