Fatal Shooting in Michigan Claims Life of Cecily Aguilar’s Ex-Husband in June

Keon Devonte Aguilar, aged 29, the former husband of Cecily Aguilar, who was sentenced to 30 years in prison for her involvement in the murder of Vanessa Guillén in 2020, was tragically shot and killed on June 19. The incident took place at Aguilar’s residence on Hollis Street in Summit Township, as reported by KWTX.

According to Michigan Live, it was revealed that Aguilar was fatally shot during a domestic incident at his home. The authorities stated that the shooter was someone known to Keon.

WILX, the sister station of KWTX, disclosed on June 21 that the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office had located and released three out of the four persons of interest connected to the fatal shooting in Summit Township.

At the time of Vanessa Guillén’s murder, Keon and Cecily were married. However, they were separated, and Cecily was in a relationship with Aaron David Robinson, the individual responsible for Guillén’s murder. Robinson, who was also serving in Fort Hood, took his own life when confronted by police officers in Killeen.

Following Keon’s divorce filing, Cecily pleaded guilty in November 2022 for her role in covering up Guillén’s murder. The divorce was finalized by a Jackson County judge on February 17, 2023.

Keon, a distinguished graduate of Jackson High School’s R.O.T.C program in 2012, served in the United States Army and received an honorable discharge. His obituary attests to his achievements.
