Fatal Crash on Southwest Bayshore Boulevard in Port St. Lucie Results in Tragic Death

Tragedy struck in Port St. Lucie as the driver of a sport utility vehicle lost his life in a fatal crash on Monday morning. According to the Port St. Lucie police, the vehicle veered off the road and collided with a concrete power pole in the 1600 block of Southwest Bayshore Boulevard. The driver, a man whose identity is yet to be revealed, was rushed to HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The incident occurred at 6:30 a.m. in an area just east of Florida’s Turnpike. Initial investigations suggest that the Toyota Sequoia was traveling south on Southwest Bayshore Boulevard when it left the roadway and struck the power pole. Sgt. Dominick Mesiti, a police spokesperson, has confirmed that no other individuals were present in the vehicle at the time of the crash.

Efforts are underway to notify the deceased driver’s family, and witnesses with information or video footage of the crash are urged to contact Traffic Homicide Investigator Keith Applebaum at 772-871-5001.
