Fatal Collision on Long Beach Freeway Claims Lives of Five Individuals

Tragic Accident Results in Five Fatalities and One Injured

In the early hours of Monday morning, a horrifying accident unfolded on the Long Beach (710) Freeway, leaving five individuals dead and another in the hospital. The crash occurred at 4:12 a.m. on the northbound section of the Long Beach Freeway, near the transition to the southbound Artesia (91) Freeway, as confirmed by the California Highway Patrol (CHP).

CHP Officer Michael Nasir informed City News Service that five out of the six people in the car tragically lost their lives in the incident. The victims have been identified as George Dobbs and Ariahh Slemaker, both fifteen years old, by the Los Angeles County coroner’s office. The names of the other three victims have yet to be released.

One occupant of the vehicle was rushed to the hospital with severe injuries. Their current condition remains unknown, as reported by the CHP.

In response to the crash, the CHP issued a SigAlert, causing the closure of all northbound lanes in the crash zone. However, by 8:30 a.m., all lanes had reopened except for the No. 1 freeway lane which had resumed operation at 6 a.m., along with the transition road to the 91 Freeway.

The cause of the accident is currently unclear, and the CHP is urging any witnesses to come forward with information that may aid in the investigation.
