Fani Willis: The Relentless Struggle – Barriers I Face from Persistent Doxxing

Members of a grand jury aren’t the only ones facing threats following the indictment of former President Trump in Georgia. Fani Willis, the Fulton County district attorney prosecuting Trump and other high-profile figures like rappers Young Thug and YFN Lucci, revealed that she and her daughters, as well as other loved ones, have been targeted with online posts containing racial slurs, threats of violence, and the sharing of their private information. The Atlanta Journal Constitution reports that Willis spoke about these issues during a recent appearance at Atlanta’s Revolt World festival, stating that the situation has been deeply distressing. She adds, “I’ve been called the N-word so many times, I don’t think I even hear it anymore.”

According to the Guardian, after Willis indicted Trump, far-right platforms circulated posts featuring images of nooses and gallows, along with calls for Willis and the grand jurors involved in the case to be hanged. Furthermore, there were numerous posts using the term “riggers” as a subtle substitute for the N-word. Trump himself targeted Willis in his posts, labeling her as “crooked, incompetent & highly partisan” and accusing her of allowing a significant rise in murder and other violent crimes. His allies joined in, intensifying the attacks.

The intimidation tactics directed at Willis have included the spread of malicious rumors and insults. The DA revealed to former Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms during an interview at the festival that individuals have shown up at her father’s and ex-husband’s doorsteps, despite being divorced from the latter for 18 years. Willis stated that the personal information of her loved ones, including home addresses, has been posted online, even on a Russian website. “They’ve doxxed them. They’ve doxxed my father,” she stressed. However, Willis remains resolute and refuses to be deterred by these actions, asserting, “It’s very unfair to the other people and it’s a waste of time. It’s not going to stop what I’m doing.” (Read more Fani Willis stories.)
