A former contestant on the television game show Family Feud has been sentenced to life in prison by a judge in western Illinois. Timothy Bliefnick, 40, was found guilty of first-degree murder, home invasion, and use of a firearm to commit first-degree murder in the killing of his estranged wife Rebecca Bliefnick, 41. The sentencing took place on Friday, with Adams County Circuit Judge Robert Adrian delivering the punishment. Rebecca Bliefnick’s body was discovered by a family member in her Quincy home after she failed to pick up her children from school. She had been shot multiple times.
Timothy and Rebecca Bliefnick were separated and going through a divorce when the tragic incident occurred. In 2020, Timothy Bliefnick and some of his family members appeared on ABC’s Family Feud. During the show, host Steve Harvey asked them, “What was the biggest mistake you made at your wedding?” Timothy Bliefnick initially answered, “I do,” but quickly retracted his response, stating, “Not mine to say, not mine to say. I love my wife.” He then expressed concern about getting in trouble for his answer. Harvey jokingly remarked, “It’s going to be a lot of hell to pay at your house.” Bliefnick’s answer ranked second on the board, with 20 out of 100 people agreeing. The top answer was “getting sloshed” with 30 responses. Bliefnick’s attorney did not provide immediate comment on the sentencing.
