Extend your holiday by a day and save 33% on your trip!

Save on Your Vacation by Extending Your Stay!

Looking to save some serious cash on your holiday? Well, the answer might be as simple as staying an extra day. According to research from Which?, couples who choose to extend their ten-night trip to 11 nights could save over £1,000. This surprising finding is believed to be due to the level of demand and the fact that flights can be cheaper on certain days.

Which? analyzed the prices of 400 package holidays from various providers, including easyJet, Jet2, Love Holidays, On The Beach, and Tui. In 26 instances, they discovered that staying for 11 nights instead of ten actually worked out to be cheaper overall.

For example, a couple booking an all-inclusive, four-star package holiday to Fuerteventura with Tui in August could save a whopping £1,188 by extending their stay from ten nights to 11. That’s a savings of 28%! Similarly, staying one extra night in Corfu on a bed and breakfast rate with Tui could save two people £584 or £292 per person, reducing the holiday cost by nearly a third.

But it’s not just Tui that offers these savings. For just £1 more per person, you can extend your stay in Crete with easyJet to 11 nights, bringing the total cost to £2,544 instead of £2,542 for ten nights.

Jo Rhodes, deputy editor of Which? Travel, suggests checking your travel dates and duration to potentially save money on your holiday. She also advises shopping around online for the best deals on accommodation and flights, using price comparison sites as a starting point. And if you want to save even more, skip the added extras when booking your flight as most airlines will still seat you together without the extra cost.

So, if you want to make your holiday budget stretch further, consider staying an extra night. It could be the key to unlocking significant savings.
