Expo Aims to Showcase Various Benefits for Local Veterans

On Saturday, military veterans and their families from the San Gorgonio Pass area will have the opportunity to gain valuable information about resources and services that they may not be aware of or currently utilizing. Beaumont resident, Anita Worthen, is collaborating with the Riverside County Office of Veterans Services and the city of Beaumont to host a “Veterans Expo” from 9 a.m. to noon at the Chatigny Community Recreation Center, located at 1310 Oak Valley Parkway.

“Explore the extensive range of services and benefits available to veterans and their families through various agencies and organizations,” stated Worthen. “Have your questions answered and update your knowledge about the current benefits available to you and your loved ones.”

Worthen, who was married to a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran, understands the challenges of navigating available services. It took her a long time to discover what resources were available to her as the spouse of a deceased former service member.

Veterans planning to attend the event are requested to bring their DD214 forms, which serve as proof of military service.

The event will provide detailed information on healthcare, housing and death benefits, as well as other forms of assistance.
