Expert warns that the launch of iPhone 15 might face delays until October with anticipated major shortages.

Unfortunately, for those eagerly awaiting the iPhone 15, there may be some disappointing news. The launch of Apple’s next smartphone could be postponed by up to a month due to manufacturing issues. Typically, Apple unveils its new flagship iPhone range in September and makes them available for purchase shortly after. However, according to Wamsi Mohan, a Global Research Analyst for Bank of America, this year’s launch could be pushed back to October.

While there are currently no other analysts corroborating this prediction, a recent report from tech news site The Information may provide some insight. According to this report, Apple is having difficulties assembling the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. Sources close to the situation claim that the company’s suppliers are utilizing a new manufacturing process to reduce the size of the bezel, the narrow black border around the display. This would allow the iPhone 15 Pros to have slightly larger screens without increasing their overall size. Interestingly, The Information notes that this process has already been employed in the Apple Watch 7 back in 2019.

Although Apple rarely delays iPhone launches, it has happened before, as was the case in 2022 when the iPhone 14 Plus experienced shipping delays due to a problem with the LG Display. Apple had to compensate by paying Samsung to produce and ship screens quickly. Similarly, in 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic resulted in supply constraints that caused a few weeks’ delay for the iPhone 12.

The tech giant rarely postpones the launch of an iPhone, but it has happened before, with the most recent example being in 2022. Upon the unveiling of the iPhone 14 Plus on September 16, people had to wait weeks for their phones to be delivered

Following news of the potential delay, Apple’s shares have dropped by 1.01% as of July 21. Regardless of the release date, rumors suggest that the iPhone 15 will come with a range of new features. Mock-ups of the potential model, shared by 9to5Mac, indicate that the phone may be available in various colors, including mint green and pink. However, there are also rumors that the iPhone 15 Pro could be Apple’s most expensive smartphone to date, surpassing the prices of the iPhone 14 Pro models from 2022.
