When I discovered I was pregnant after my fiancée, Antonio Livington, had been wanting a baby for some time, it felt like everything had fallen into place.
I have always had irregular periods, sometimes occurring twice a month, so it wasn’t a big deal when I had a period a few days after finding out I was pregnant.
At around four weeks, I had a transvaginal ultrasound which showed a single fetus in its sac and confirmed that everything was okay with the baby.
As Antonio and I continued to have a lot of sex throughout the pregnancy, I thought that once I got further along, I wouldn’t want to have sex due to discomfort.
I thought I was having a miscarriage
However, about two weeks after the ultrasound, I experienced severe abdominal pains. Although there was no bleeding, I feared I might be having a miscarriage and rushed to the ER.
A second transvaginal ultrasound was conducted to investigate the cause of the pain, and to everyone’s surprise, two more babies were discovered in my uterus. I was carrying triplets.

“How can that be possible?” I asked the person performing the sonogram. The previous scan had been thorough, so it seemed implausible that there was just one baby.
I explained my irregular periods and the sonogram specialist explained that it appeared I had ovulated twice. This phenomenon is known as superfetation.
They explained that in extremely rare cases, a second egg is fertilized and implanted in the uterus days or weeks after the first one, resulting in a “double pregnancy.”
There are no official statistics on the frequency of superfetation as it is extremely rare, with only a few recorded cases in medical literature.
The “younger” babies turned out to be identical twins, as one of the fertilized eggs had divided. A specialist explained that my early pain was due to rapid expansion of the uterus to accommodate three babies.
We named the girls Dream, Amani, and Amber.
During the first six months of the pregnancy, I experienced intense nausea. My water broke early, and I was put on bed rest for almost two months. However, the rest was somewhat enjoyable. As an influencer and owner of a hair salon, I even filmed TikTok videos from the hospital.
I gave birth via C-section on January 18, 2020. There was no way I was going to deliver three babies naturally.
We named the girls Dream, Amani, and Amber. Dream, the first conceived, weighed three pounds. The twins, Amber and Amani, weighed three and four ounces more, respectively, and were conceived about six to eight days after Dream.
