Experience the Impact: Sensory-Friendly Hours Are Back with Small Changes

Join us in creating a culture where everyone feels they belong. Belonging takes different forms for each individual, and by embracing diverse perspectives, meaningful change can occur.

Earlier this year, we took a step towards making our stores more inclusive for individuals with sensory disabilities by implementing sensory-friendly hours every Saturday. During the back-to-school season, we made changes such as using static images on TV walls, turning off the radio, and lowering the lights. The response to the pilot program was incredibly positive, with these seemingly small changes significantly improving the shopping experience for many. The resounding feedback was clear – continue with these efforts!

We are thrilled to announce that we are extending sensory-friendly hours from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. local time, not just on Saturdays, but every day at all Walmart U.S. and Puerto Rico stores, starting November 10th, with no set end date. During these hours, we aim to create a more soothing environment for our customers and associates. These changes are a direct result of the valuable feedback provided to us, guiding us on how to make our stores a place where everyone feels like they belong.
