Experience the All-New GamersNexus Website v5.0: An Exciting Update

Hey everyone,

Welcome to our new home for written reviews content! Although most of the information is covered in the announcement video, I wanted to personally greet you all and provide some additional details. Please note that this website is still a work in progress. We are actively working on adding content and resolving any bugs that may arise.

In terms of development, this website was built by Wendell from Level1Techs. I highly recommend checking out his YouTube channel here!

Overview

The Features

Ad-Free: This website is completely ad-free and will remain so. To support us in keeping it ad-free, please consider purchasing a Modmat, Solder Mat, commemorative glassware, or T-shirt from our store. You can also contribute on Patreon.

Function-First: Our main focus is on simplicity and functionality. We prioritize text, images, charts, and tables for web content.

Fast: Thanks to Wendell’s engineering work and the absence of ads, our website loads incredibly fast. The only exception is pages with image comparisons, which may load a bit slower due to additional javascript.

Community Service & Searchability: Our goal is to preserve technical knowledge in a written format that is easy to find, search, and discover. While we love YouTube, written content offers a more permanent and searchable format.

Image Comparisons: We will be providing side-by-side and split-screen image comparisons to highlight graphics quality differences and game graphics optimization. You can even choose which screenshot to view!

Methodology ‘Storage’: Our website contains a consolidated methodology section, which serves as a reference for our testing procedures.

The Plans

Moving forward, we have several plans for this website:

1. Implement a floating table of contents for easier article navigation.
2. Improve loading speed and eliminate any ‘jumpy’ behavior on image comparison pages.
3. Add more test benches to our Test Bench page and incorporate our test methodologies for public use.
4. Convert factory tours into written format for educational purposes.

A Personal Message

GamersNexus started in my childhood bedroom, which was about 10×10 in size. This project has been a true labor of love from our team. I was the sole person responsible for maintaining the website for over a decade, but eventually had to prioritize other aspects of the business. Wendell approached me in 2022 with the idea of rebuilding the website to ensure our benchmark content is permanently accessible. It took three years, but we finally made it.

I am incredibly grateful to Wendell for his patience and expertise during this process. My web skills are outdated, so there was a steep learning curve. Our shared goal was to create a platform that makes it easier for consumers to learn about PC hardware and component performance. While we offer this information through videos, we wanted to reach those who prefer written content or are new to the industry.

However, this website also holds significant sentimental value for me. It was the last aspect of the business that my father, who passed away unexpectedly in 2015, was familiar with. He supported me throughout the process of building GamersNexus, and the website was where I dedicated most of my time. I owe my early HTML experience to him, as he enrolled me in a Microsoft Front Page class when I was just 12 years old.

Preserving the website is a way for me to honor his memory and the memories we built together. The logo, which he originally created in Microsoft Word in 2008, remains largely unchanged. It serves as a reminder of the journey we took and the support he provided.

I don’t want to dwell on this too long, as our focus is on technology. However, I wanted to share this personal message to offer some insight into the passion that drives this website. In the past, many of you reached out to express your gratitude and connection to our story. To those who find solace in these shared experiences, I encourage you to keep pushing forward while finding ways to stay connected to your own memories and loved ones.

We never intended to abandon the website, and now we’re back. I am genuinely excited about this new chapter.
