Experience the 2024 BMW X2: Discover Enhanced Size, Speed, and Luxury Inspired by its Higher-End Siblings

Redesigned 2024 BMW X2: Aggressive Style, Enhanced Performance, and Major Tech Upgrade

The redesigned 2024 BMW X2 has finally been unveiled, and it’s clear that BMW has taken the aggressive styling cues from its X4 and X6 siblings. While the new design won’t appeal to everyone, it fits perfectly with the type of customer BMW is targeting. The 2024 X2 is not just a cosmetic makeover, as it comes with more power, reintroduces the hot M35i variant, and debuts iDrive 9, the latest iteration of BMW’s infotainment software.

Based heavily on the redesigned X1, the new X2 shares the same assembly line in Regensburg, Germany. Both models will also offer all-electric versions, although these won’t be available in the US market. With its complete break from its predecessor, the 2024 X2 stands out in terms of visual personality and livability.

The new X2 features a long tapering fastback roof, making it more substantial compared to its predecessor. The increased dimensions, including its length, height, and width, contribute to its enhanced appearance. Although interior measurements haven’t been provided yet, the higher roofline and longer wheelbase suggest a roomier interior. Cargo capacity has also increased, making it a favorable choice among crossover coupes.

The redesigned X2 boasts a love-it-or-hate-it style, resembling a scaled-down X4. The larger dimensions, giant grilles, fat exhaust tips, and unique trapezoidal shapes give it a more aggressive look. BMW prioritizes pleasing its customers over pleasing internet critics, emphasizing its commitment to being polarizing rather than boring.

Inside, the 2024 X2 showcases BMW’s classy and glassy cabin design, featuring the automaker’s “Curved Display” with a 10.3-inch driver’s display and a 10.7-inch infotainment unit merged into a single housing. The major highlight is iDrive 9, a completely revamped software that runs on Android OS, offering improved integrations and easier system updates. It is also equipped with an over-the-air update capability and a 5G antenna system. The new software allows Apple CarPlay and Android Auto apps to be utilized on the instrument cluster and the optional head-up display, enhancing the overall user experience.

The 2024 X2 offers two trims: xDrive28i and M35i xDrive. Both trims come with standard all-wheel drive and share the same turbocharged 2.0-liter powertrains. The xDrive28i generates 241 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque, while the M35i delivers 312 horsepower. The M35i provides a sportier driving experience with its improved performance, including a 0-60 mph time of 5.2 seconds.

In terms of pricing, exact figures for the 2024 X2 have not been released yet. However, it is expected to have a starting price of $42,000 or higher, considering its matured design and features. Production will begin in November, and vehicles are expected to arrive at dealer lots in March 2024.
