Exclusive Tribute Episode: Celebrating Billy Miller’s Contributions on ‘Young and the Restless’

“The Young and the Restless” paid a heartfelt tribute to the late star Billy Miller in their recent episode. They honored him by featuring a black-and-white photo of Miller with the message “In loving memory, 1979-2023” at the end of the show. The official Twitter account for the CBS soap opera also shared a montage to commemorate Miller. Their tweet said, “To end today’s episode, we paid tribute to a greatly missed member of the Y&R family. Billy Miller will forever be in our hearts. ❤️”

Billy Miller, who sadly passed away at the age of 43 in Austin, Texas on September 15, was known for his roles on both “The Young and the Restless” and “General Hospital.” His death occurred just before his 44th birthday, which would have been that Sunday. According to his manager, Miller was battling manic depression at the time of his passing.

In a statement from Miller’s mother, Patricia Miller, she revealed that her son had been fighting a long and difficult battle with bipolar depression for many years. Despite his efforts to control the disease, it ultimately took his life. Patricia expressed her deep love for him and her family’s struggle to cope with the loss. She thanked everyone for their support and stated that she would not be making any further comments.

Miller’s portrayal on “The Young and the Restless” earned him three Daytime Emmys, and he also appeared on shows like “General Hospital,” “NCIS,” and “Suits.” His former co-star Gabriel Macht, who worked with him on “Suits,” paid tribute to Miller by sharing his heartfelt thoughts on social media. Macht commended Miller for his genuine approach to acting, kind nature, and infectious smile. He expressed his hope that Miller’s memory would always be a blessing to his family and all those who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Miller is survived by his mother Patricia, sister Megan, brother-in-law Ronnie, nephew Grayson, and niece Charley. If you or someone you know is in need of immediate support, please reach out to the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline at 988, or visit their website at 988lifeline.org.
