Sylvester Stallone co-created the “Expendables” franchise in 2010, alongside screenwriter David Callaham. The movies featured Stallone, Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, Jet Li, and Bruce Willis as an elite mercenary team.
The franchise has been successful at the box office, with the first two movies grossing over $270 million and $314 million worldwide, respectively.
However, the third installment, released in 2014, did not perform as well, making $215 million worldwide on a $100 million budget.
Stallone left the franchise in 2017 due to creative differences but returned for the fourth movie in 2018. However, his role in “Expend4bles” is not as prominent as before.
