Tomorrow’s announcement of the Humane Ai Pin has caused a stir, with numerous details, including the product price, being leaked ahead of time.
Documents obtained by The Verge reveal that the Humane Ai Pin will be priced at $699. The product comes with a rounded square puck, a charger, and two “battery boosters” that not only deliver power but also serve as magnetic clips for clothing.
But perhaps the most striking detail is the $24 per month subscription fee that consumers will need to pay for the “Humane Subscription.” This will provide cellular data and a phone number through what is expected to be a Humane MVNO operating on T-Mobile’s network. The subscription also includes cloud storage for photos and videos, as well as the opportunity to make unlimited queries of AI models from Microsoft and OpenAI.
The Humane Ai Pin is equipped with an unspecified Qualcomm Snapdragon, a camera, depth and motion sensors, a “personic speaker,” and a green laser projector. In addition to voice commands, it features a touchpad and the ability to connect Bluetooth headphones. Importantly, the Pin requires physical activation without the use of a wake word. When the device is recording, a “Trust Light” indicator, located at the top of the device, will be activated.
The Ai Pen will be powered by an operating system called “Cosmos,” the details of which will be unveiled in tomorrow’s announcement. Previous leaks have suggested that it can summarize inboxes and “write messages that sound like you.” According to The Verge, the product will also feature integration with Tidal and include photography functions. Additionally, there will be a Humane.center portal available for users to view photos, videos, and notes from the Ai Pin on other devices.
