‘Brands’ strategy: Marks & Spencer has teamed up with Adidas and Sweaty Betty

Marks & Spencer has partnered with Adidas and Sweaty Betty as part of their ‘brands’ strategy, expanding their offerings.

Over 150 products from both sportswear brands will be available on M&S’ dedicated Sports Edit platform in early October.

M&S aims to boost online growth by selling third-party brands, with upcoming additions including Columbia, Regatta, and Sorel.

In March 2022, M&S acquired a stake in sportswear platform The Sports Edit.

Nishi Mahajan, the director of third-party brands at M&S, said the expansion of their sporty ranges is “just one of the ways we’re continuing to become more relevant to our customers’ lifestyles.”

M&S introduced its Brands at M&S offering in March 2021 after acquiring Jaeger, its first brand, in January 2021.

This move has helped M&S shed its “dowdy” perception and attract younger shoppers.
