Exclusive 2014 McLaren P1 Up for Auction Today at Sotheby’s Motorsport: Experience the Unparalleled Rarity!

Barry Skolnick’s The Ikonick Collection is a world-renowned car collection that stands out for its creativity and uniqueness. With over 125 supercars, hypercars, and classic-grade vehicles, every Ikonick offering is truly special.

For the very first time, two vehicles from this extraordinary collection will be available for public bidding. The first is a 2014 McLaren P1, with an initial bid of $1 million. The second is a 2017 Lamborghini Aventador SV Roadster, starting at $300,000.

The P1 was a marvel for Mac fans, boasting exquisite curves, immense power, and a hefty price tag. Its limited availability was due to all 375 models being quickly purchased by wealthy enthusiasts who were captivated by its 3.8-liter 727-horsepower V-8 engine, combined with a 177-hp electric motor, totaling 903 horsepower. Additionally, it features hydro-pneumatic suspension, electro-hydraulically assisted steering, and a rear wing that extends nearly 12 inches. It accelerates from zero to 60 mph in a mere 2.7 seconds, with a top speed of 217 mph (governed).

While there are other exotic cars with similar specifications, what sets the P1 apart is its electric motor, powered by a lithium-ion battery pack. This integration of power electronics and cutting-edge technology is truly fascinating and sure to impress even the most discerning critics.

The second vehicle in Skolnick’s collection is a 2017 Lamborghini Aventador SV Roadster that he personally acquired. Available starting Oct. 19 through Nov. 2 with a starting bid of $300,000, this SV Roadster features a stunning Rosso finish and custom exterior components by Novitec, with less than 400 miles on its clock.

The Aventador SV is powered by a 6.5-liter V12 engine, delivering 740 horsepower and 509 lb-ft of torque through a seven-speed automated single-clutch transmission to all four wheels. With its sharp angles, carbon fiber accents, and iconic Lamborghini design, it embodies everything that a true Lamborghini enthusiast desires.

Chip Perry, CEO of Sotheby’s Motorsport, expressed his appreciation for being able to feature part of Barry’s prestigious collection, stating, “The Ikonick Collection is an extraordinary compilation of supercars and art, and it is a privilege to host the first public auction from this collection. Barry is an icon in the luxury collector’s space, renowned for curating only the finest pieces.”

In contrast to collectors who keep their treasures hidden, Skolnick decided to share his collection with the world through The Ikonick Collection. Located in Miami, Florida, this unique establishment combines an art gallery, garage, and event space. Visitors can marvel at 150 curated automobiles, alongside sculptures and paintings from both local talents and internationally acclaimed artists.
