Exciting Job Opportunities for Beyoncé and Taylor Swift Reporters at Gannett, America’s Premier Newspaper Chain

Gannett, America’s largest newspaper chain, is currently seeking two full-time journalists with highly specialized beats. One reporter will focus exclusively on “Lemonade,” while the other will cover all things related to “1989.”

Gannett, the media company that owns USA Today and The Tennessean, is looking for a journalist who can “chronicle the music, fashion, cultural, and economic influence of Beyoncé.” They are also seeking a reporter who can capture the “music and cultural impact of Taylor Swift.” The job postings for these positions were recently announced on the USA Today Network website.

The ideal candidate for the Beyoncé reporter role should be an “energetic and enterprising writer” who can effectively convey Beyoncé’s impact on various industries and society as a whole.

Beyoncé is currently on her Renaissance World Tour, which is projected to generate a staggering $2 billion in total revenue. The tour will conclude on October 1st in Kansas City, Missouri.

This opportunity arises as Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour continues to be highly successful, generating hundreds of millions of dollars and boosting local economies. Additionally, Swift will release a film about the tour in October and continues to break music records.

Both positions require extensive travel and the ability to provide unbiased coverage. Candidates must submit a video cover letter along with their resumes.

After the job listing for the Taylor Swift reporter went public, Gannett faced criticism for offering such specialized positions after implementing layoffs and cutbacks in previous years. The company had eliminated 20% of its journalism jobs between 2021 and 2022.

Kristin Roberts, Gannett Media’s chief content officer, responded to the criticism stating that USA Today Network is committed to providing essential journalism to its audience and fulfilling their desire for specific content. She emphasized Taylor Swift’s growing influence on the music industry and culture.
