The upcoming season of Fortnite is rumored to include two unexpected characters: Solid Snake from Metal Gear Solid and Peter Griffin from Family Guy. This leak, attributed to Epic Games and Xbox, has caused quite a stir among fans.
The news was first shared by the unofficial Fortnite news X/Twitter account ShiinaBR, who revealed an advertisement on the Xbox Store that appears to have been posted prematurely, unveiling the next lineup of characters set to debut in Fortnite Chapter 5: Season 1, titled Underground.
Coming on the heels of the launch of Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1, the iconic Solid Snake is expected to make his appearance in Fortnite after the update. While the image only shows his classic sneaking suit as a nod to the original Metal Gear Solid, fans speculate that alternate skins like Big Boss or an older version of Solid Snake may also be included due to Fortnite’s penchant for releasing variant skins.

Peter Griffin’s appearance in the leaked advertisement is also causing a buzz, as his 2D cartoon art style sets him apart. Fans have long speculated about the possibility of the Family Guy character appearing in Fortnite, and in the leaked image, he is seen sporting a suave tuxedo instead of his classic outfit.
Alongside Solid Snake and Peter Griffin, several other characters can be spotted in the advertisement, though these two are undeniably the most recognizable.
The upcoming Chapter 5: Season 1 is anticipated to surpass the popularity of its predecessor, the OG Update, which saw a staggering 44.7 million players logging on in a single day, marking it as “the biggest day in Fortnite’s history,” according to Epic Games.
This season also follows a trail of controversy as Epic Games introduced and then disabled age-restricted cosmetics, leading to criticism from players who labeled it as one of the “worst updates” in Fortnite’s history.
Season OG will conclude with a new in-game live event called The Big Bang, featuring none other than Eminem. The event is scheduled to commence on December 2, 2023 at 2pm ET.
