It’s a formidable challenge to defeat Superman, but his time on the CW network is limited — and it has nothing to do with Kryptonite.
The network made an announcement on Thursday that Superman & Lois will conclude after its fourth season. This DC Comics series, starring Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch as the central couple, will return in 2024 for a final ten-episode season.

“Although it’s sad to bid farewell to Superman & Lois after its fourth season, we’re grateful for the incredible experiences we’ve shared with our exceptional cast, crew, visual effects teams, editors, musical talents, and writers,” said showrunners Todd Helbing and Brent Fletcher. “From the very beginning, the show has centered around family, and that’s exactly what we’ve created — both on and off screen. We want to express our thanks to our partners at Berlanti Productions, DC, WB, and The CW for their unwavering support and enthusiasm throughout this journey … and a special thank you to all the fans for their unwavering loyalty.”
The showrunners also expressed their excitement for the final season, stating that they’re “thrilled” about the forthcoming events and can’t wait for audiences to witness the showdown between Superman, Lois, and their allies against their most formidable foe yet: Lex Luthor.
Season 3 left fans on the edge of their seats with a cliffhanger, as Lex Luthor (played by Michael Cudlitz) transformed Bizarro (Hoechlin) into Doomsday and engaged in an epic and destructive battle with Superman (also played by Hoechlin), which took place on the moon.
