BATON ROUGE, La. – Visit Baton Rouge and LSU Athletics are excited to announce that the highly popular Savannah Bananas will be coming to Baton Rouge for a thrilling three-night series of games at Alex Box Stadium from March 14-16, 2024. This will mark the Bananas’ first appearance in a college baseball stadium.
The Savannah Bananas, a unique and entertaining baseball team based in Savannah, Ga., have gained widespread recognition for their unconventional approach to America’s beloved pastime. Known for their captivating in-game entertainment and vibrant social media presence, the Bananas have successfully sold out every game since 2016.
Tickets for these games will be available exclusively through the Savannah Bananas Ticket Lottery, and will not be sold by the LSU Athletics ticket office.

A random drawing will be held approximately two months before the event to select lucky fans who will then have the opportunity to purchase tickets. Admission is free for children aged 3 and under.

LSU Athletics and Visit Baton Rouge have collaborated with the Savannah Bananas organization for about a year to explore this partnership. In 2023, the Banana Ball World Tour drew sold-out crowds in 33 cities across 20 states.
They have played at various ballparks throughout their tour, including Triple-A, Double-A, Single-A, and Major League Spring Training venues. Additionally, they recently concluded their tour with a game at the iconic Abner Doubleday Field, located next to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York.
Alex Box Stadium, with its seating capacity of 10,326, has been ranked first in total attendance nationally 25 times since 1996, making it a fitting venue for this special event.
Recognized as the “Greatest Show in Sports” by ESPN and as TikTok’s favorite team, the Savannah Bananas provide a truly unique baseball experience that involves choreographed dances, epic scoring celebrations, lively mascots, talented musicians, and even celebrity guests. Their version of baseball, known as “banana ball,” is a fast-paced and action-packed style of play with its own set of unique rules, such as no bunting, a two-hour time limit, fans catching foul balls for outs, batters stealing first base, and a thrilling one-on-one tiebreaker showdown at the end of tied games.
The team rosters are filled with some of the most talented and entertaining players from around the world, including former Major League Baseball stars and special celebrity guests. During the 2023 tour, notable names like Jake Peavy, Hunter Pence, Johnny Damon, Josh Reddick, and Barry Zito joined the Bananas on the field.
