Apple has exciting plans for its iPad lineup in 2024, as reported by Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman. The tech giant is set to update all models of the iPad, including the iPad Pro, iPad Air, iPad mini, and entry-level iPad, throughout the year.

In Gurman’s recent Power On newsletter, he mentioned the absence of new iPads and AirPods for the holiday season and revealed Apple’s plans for the iPad lineup:

Instead of rushing to release more products, Apple is taking its time to revamp iPads and AirPods. The company intends to update all iPad models in 2024. New lower-end AirPods will be released next year, followed by a refreshed Pro model in 2025.

This will be the first year since the iPad’s introduction in 2010 that Apple hasn’t released any new iPad models. Therefore, the expectation of updates across all models next year is highly anticipated.

Recent Updates for Each iPad Model

  • iPad Pro: Last updated in October 2022
  • iPad: Last updated in October 2022
  • iPad Air: Last updated in March 2022
  • iPad mini: Last updated in September 2021

Gurman previously mentioned that the entry-level to mid-range iPads could be updated as early as March 2024. He also predicted the launch of new 11-inch and 13-inch iPad Pro models in the first half of 2024, featuring the M3 chip and OLED displays. The next iPad Air is expected to be equipped with the M2 chip, while the iPad mini will likely have the A16 Bionic chip.
