Ex-Partner from a One-Night Stand Becoming Harassing

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver, Ja’Marr Chase, is taking legal action to obtain a restraining order against a woman named Ambar Hunter, who he claims has been harassing both him and his mother, Toeleah Chase. TMZ has reported that Chase filed for a temporary restraining order on Tuesday, alleging that Hunter has engaged in a disturbing pattern of harassment and threats following a brief encounter in July 2021. Court documents obtained by the outlet reveal that the NFL star, who is 23 years old, has accused Hunter of intentionally damaging his personal brand, reputation, and corporate sponsorships through ongoing calculated harassment, particularly on social media. According to Chase, this harassment began after he declined to continue their relationship beyond a one-night stand.

In her social media posts, which TMZ has obtained, Hunter has claimed that she and Chase have a child together and that she is a victim of domestic violence. However, Chase has firmly denied these allegations in the legal documents, stating that he and Hunter do not have a child and that she has refused to undergo a DNA test to prove otherwise. The documents also reveal that Hunter has posted photos of another person’s child, falsely claiming that the child belongs to her and Chase.

Chase further states in the legal documents that Hunter has been harassing him continuously from July 2021 until the present, with the most recent incident occurring in July 2023. He alleges that she posted his and his mother’s personal cell phone numbers on Instagram, resulting in a barrage of harassing calls and texts. Notably, it appears that Hunter’s Instagram page, where she reportedly had 18,000 followers, has been taken down.

Chase contends that Hunter’s “ongoing harassment scheme,” which includes tagging the Bengals and NFL in her Instagram Story posts, is an intentional effort to harm his football career. However, he has yet to publicly address the matter. As a high-performing wide receiver, Chase was selected as the fifth pick in the 2021 NFL draft and is entering his third season with the Bengals. In his rookie year, he impressed with an average of 18 yards per catch and was awarded the Offensive Rookie of the Year for the 2021 season. So far, Chase has amassed 168 receptions, 2,501 yards, and 22 touchdowns. At just 21 years old, he signed a lucrative four-year contract worth $30.8 million with the Bengals, along with a signing bonus of $19.8 million.
