Erik Spoelstra, coach of the Heat, commends the Mascot’s resilience following Conor McGregor’s odd incident.

Miami Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra recently commented on the unusual incident that occurred between UFC fighter Conor McGregor and the team’s mascot, Burnie, during Game 4 of the NBA Finals against the Denver Nuggets. McGregor landed two punches on the mascot, causing the employee inside to briefly seek medical attention and receive pain medication. Spoelstra praised the mascot’s toughness and joked that the employee should have been allowed to take the first swing. McGregor was at the game to promote a pain-relief product and had punched Burnie while he was wearing oversized boxing gloves and a robe. After the incident, McGregor attempted to spray the mascot with the pain-relief product. Despite this bizarre event, Denver went on to win Game 4 and will be competing for their first NBA championship on Monday.
