England’s Mark Wood Sets Record for Fastest Over Bowled at Headingley

Mark Wood Records the Fastest Ever Over at Headingley with a 96.5MPH Delivery in Ashes Match

Mark Wood astounded the crowd with his blistering pace, as the England fast bowler delivered the fastest over ever recorded at Headingley.

England’s bowling attack had faced criticism for lacking speed in the first two Ashes Tests, with the likes of Jimmy Anderson and Stuart Broad struggling against Australia’s world-class batsmen.

To address this issue, Ben Stokes brought in Mark Wood to replace veteran Anderson for the Leeds Test, and Wood immediately showcased his ability to threaten the Australian batsmen.

In his first over, Wood bowled at speeds of 91, 93, 95, 93, 94, and 93mph, officially setting a new record for the fastest over bowled at Headingley.

He followed it up with a delivery clocked at 96.5mph in his second over.

Wood applied immense pressure on the Australian batsmen, recording three consecutive maiden overs. He saved his best for last and secured a breakthrough in the final ball of his spell with a 95mph rocket that crashed into Usman Khawaja’s stumps.

More updates to follow.
