Elon Musk requests Rachel Maddow and Don Lemon to host Twitter shows

Elon Musk, the CEO of Twitter, has expressed a desire to bring more liberal voices to the platform. Musk suggested that the likes of MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow and former CNN anchor Don Lemon should “put their shows on this platform.” Musk’s comments come in response to the conservative views expressed by Tucker Carlson on the popular show “Tucker on Twitter.” Musk has previously made a similar plea to Lemon, who was fired from CNN after a series of controversies, including referring to Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley as “not in her prime.” Maddow’s show consistently achieves high ratings on MSNBC, with the audience for her show “The Rachel Maddow Show” soaring above 2 million in recent weeks. Despite Musk’s efforts to appeal to voices on both sides of the political aisle, Twitter’s ad revenue has plummeted since he took over last October, with advertisers citing concerns over the outspoken nature of the platform’s new leader. The company has also fallen short of its sales projections, sparking Musk to fire half of its workforce late last year.
