Elizabeth Holmes, the convicted Theranos fraudster, sheds tears during initial jail visit with spouse Billy Evans and parents.

Elizabeth Holmes, the disgraced former CEO of Theranos who was recently sentenced to 11 years in federal prison, was seen crying during a seven-hour family visit at the Federal Prison Camp Bryan near Houston, Texas. Photos obtained by the Daily Mail showed Holmes, who was visibly shaken, walking the prison grounds with her family and clinging to her husband’s finger in what appeared to be a violation of the prison’s physical contact policy. During the visit, the Holmes clan snacked on vending machine treats like Honeybuns and cinnamon rolls. Holmes was convicted last year on four criminal charges and was found guilty of defrauding investors of Theranos, a blood testing startup she had founded. Despite trying to delay her prison sentence, Holmes reported to prison on May 30 this year. She is currently held at the same facility as former reality TV star Jen Shah, who was sentenced to six years for telemarketing fraud.
