Eamonn Holmes Demands Transcript of Phillip Schofield Investigation and Launches New Criticism of ITV

Eamonn Holmes has once again drawn attention to the lack of transparency in ITV’s investigation into Phillip Schofield’s affair with a younger colleague. The presenter’s ongoing resentment towards the broadcaster has been widely publicized, with Holmes asserting that ITV didn’t investigate the matter as thoroughly as it should have. Speaking on GB News, Holmes called for the release of a transcript of the original investigation, stating that “that was not a thorough investigation.”

Andrew Pierce, a guest on the show, supported Holmes’ claims and criticized ITV for botching the inquiry into Schofield’s affair. Pierce emphasized the rumor that the affair was common knowledge inside the company and expressed his disappointment with ITV’s failure to act.

The scandal led to a government inquiry that saw Dame Carolyn McCall, CEO of ITV, among others, being grilled by the Culture, Media and Sport Committee. McCall admitted to not investigating the affair and revealed that the broadcaster was covering the cost of Schofield’s counseling. Despite allegations that Schofield’s affair was an open secret at ITV, McCall strongly denied the claim, calling it defamatory.

Holmes has had a difficult relationship with ITV recently after he and his wife were removed from This Morning after 15 years on the program, which has led him to blast the “woke ITV.” He suggested that presenters who do not agree with the network’s narrative are often removed while those who fall in line are protected, a claim that received backing from fellow GB News presenter Dan Wootton. Holmes added that, despite the presenters’ long history with the network, they were often dismissed without warning, leading to bitterness and resentment.
