TAMPA, Fla. — The Philadelphia Eagles dominated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 3’s highly anticipated showdown between two undefeated teams.
The Eagles’ defense stifled the Bucs in their 25-11 victory on Monday night. Additionally, running back D’Andre Swift continued his impressive streak, recording his second consecutive 100-yard game on the ground.
Philadelphia Eagles (3-0)
The Philadelphia Eagles showcased their dominance on the road, delivering their most impressive win of the season against the Buccaneers.
Despite quarterback Jalen Hurts battling flu-like symptoms, the Eagles’ offense performed exceptionally well. Hurts, although facing ups and downs throughout the game, managed to rush and throw for a score while also recording two interceptions. The Eagles’ defense was also exceptional, generating two takeaways and limiting the Bucs’ highly ranked run defense to just 54 yards.
Wide receiver A.J. Brown had a standout performance, contributing significantly to the team’s offensive success. With their strong start to the season, the Eagles currently stand as one of only three undefeated teams in the league.
Promising trend: The Eagles continue to dominate on the ground, with D’Andre Swift emerging as their lead back. Following a career-best performance in Week 2, Swift once again recorded an impressive 130 rushing yards on 16 carries, solidifying the Eagles’ status as the second-best rushing offense in the NFL.
Pivotal play: Rookies Jalen Carter and Sydney Brown made crucial defensive plays during the game, showcasing their talent and contributing to the team’s success. Carter’s strip of Rachaad White and Brown’s impressive incompletion against Mike Evans displayed the strong potential of the Eagles’ young players.
Eye-popping stat: With his rushing touchdown in this game, Hurts surpassed Cam Newton for the most rushing touchdowns in a quarterback’s first 50 career games.
