  • This incident marks another instance of performers being targeted with objects while on stage.

During his concert in Vienna, Austria on Saturday, Harry Styles was struck in the face by an object.

A video, originally captured by Twitter user @harryloustan1 and reposted by @PopCrave,shows Styles walking onstage in a sparkly black and green ensemble before being hit in the eye by an unknown projectile.

Immediately after being hit, Styles clutches his face as shocked audience members react in the background.

The original video caption reads: “STOP THROWING SHIT AT HIM!!!!!”

Styles, currently wrapping up his Love on Tour, has not addressed the incident. However, Twitter users quickly expressed their dismay.

“This trend of throwing objects is going to ruin the concert and festival experience,” one user wrote.

Another person echoed the sentiment, saying that those who throw things at performers will “ruin live music for those who genuinely care about the well-being of the artists.”

Assaults on performers during their shows have become a disturbing trend. Just last month, a fan threw a bouquet of flowers at Styles, hitting him in the face once again. Singers Bebe Rexha, Ava Max, and Kelsea Ballerini have also faced similar incidents in recent weeks.

In June, Rexha was left with a black eye after a concertgoer threw a cell phone at her face during a show in New York City. Shortly afterward, Max was slapped by someone who managed to get onstage in Los Angeles, and Ballerini was hit by something thrown from the crowd while performing in Idaho.

Adele addressed this spree of object-throwing during a Las Vegas show last week, jokingly vowing to “kill” anyone who tries the same on her.
