July 12 (UPI) — Domino’s Pizza, famous for its fast deliveries, has officially partnered with Uber to enhance its delivery services.

The collaboration will allow Domino’s customers to easily order their favorite pizzas through the Uber Eats and Postmates apps nationwide by the end of the year. As part of the agreement, Domino’s will provide training for drivers delivering their products.

The pizza delivery giant, headquartered in Michigan, plans to test the Domino’s-Uber partnership in four pilot cities during the fall season before expanding the service to its other outlets across the United States. The specific cities involved in the trial phase have not been disclosed by the company.

“Domino’s has a proven track record of successful market expansion,” stated Domino’s CEO, Russell Weiner. “We are currently the leading delivery and carryout pizza provider in the U.S.

“Through our research in the U.S. and insights gained from 13 international markets, we believe that utilizing the Uber Eats Marketplace for order fulfillment will grant Domino’s and its franchisees access to a new customer segment and generate a significant increase in delivery orders once it becomes widely available.”

Domino’s and Uber Eats already share a presence in 27 international markets, as confirmed by the pizza company. This partnership will enable Uber Eats to serve 70% of Domino’s stores worldwide, including those in the United States.

“Both Domino’s and Uber have a longstanding reputation for technological advancements and innovation,” commented Dara Khosrowshahi, CEO of Uber. “We are thrilled to announce this unique global partnership with Domino’s, starting with our role as their exclusive third-party marketplace partner in the U.S. and extending the availability of their menu to our consumer base worldwide.”

In 2022, Domino’s reported that over 80% of its retail sales in the United States were made through digital channels. The company has developed various ordering platforms, including those for Apple CarPlay, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, and Facebook Messenger.

Although Domino’s discontinued its “30 minutes or less” delivery policy years ago, this commitment to fast service remains a cornerstone of the company’s reputation as one of the leading delivery food providers in the nation.
